OUR CLUB’S OBJECTIVES
- Promote and preserve Traditional Jazz
- Provide a platform for traditional jazz musicians to perform for interested audiences
- Connect jazz musicians, societies, and the public
- Offer young and beginner musicians the chance to play with experienced musicians
Volunteers:
Our club can always use volunteers. We need people to help run the Bar. We need able-bodied folks to help set up the hall from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and break down from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We need people to set up the stage and drums. We need people to run the sound system.
Sunday Session Volunteer Form
Jam Sessions:
Before our Sunday concerts, our club hosts a jam session from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The music and players are pre-coordinated by the jam session organizer. All musicians who wish to participate will play at least one and possibly two of the sets. Pre-coordination is strongly advised but loosely enforced. Jam set Adult Musicians pay $5 for admittance to the Sunday session and receive a token for a free drink when they play. Youth who participate in the jam sessions do not have to pay and will receive on-stage instruction. Jazz camp scholarships are also available to these young people.
